According to the Imperial War Museum, Edward was born in 1879 in Harrietsham. He resided in The Dial House on West St, a family home since the 1500's. He followed in the footsteps of his family, becoming a wood carver. He was discharged from the British Army Cyclist Battalion in 1919, married Hilda Tipper and had a baby boy Robert. Edward passed away in 1949.
